About Judy
Judy Kessler is a graduate of Oberlin Conservatory of Music, and is well-versed in Classical and Jazz performance. Her original compositions and arrangements have been featured on her CD, Secret Words, and with her prior groups , The French Classical Jazz Ensemble and Savoy Truffle.
She has shared the concert stage with McCoy Tyner, done film score recording with Jenifer Holiday, recording work for Bobby Short (of Cafe Carlyle fame) , music installations for John Cage, and private engagements for Byron Janis. She worked as Musical Director/Accompanist for shows at Georgetown University, the JCC of Greater Washington, the JCC of Clifton, NJ.
Ms Kessler is currently Musical Director for (Summer) Camp Habima of Passaic, NJ. She was Director of Music at Sharing The Arts (a performing arts school in Hawthorne, NJ, for children with special needs). She was accompanist for Temple Beth Rishon, Adath Shalom and Montclair Kimberly Academy from 2014-2020, and maintains a private piano/vocal studio in Hawthorne, NJ. She is also an adjudicator for piano auditions for Music Educators Association of New Jersey and the New Jersey Federation Music Club. She has been the pianist for CJSO On The Go (classical chamber group) from 2014 to the present.
